Welcome to the Wavenis® Open Standard Alliance (Wavenis-OSA). Wavenis-OSA is an international non-profit standard development organization founded to promote the global use and enhancement of Wavenis, an emerging wireless communication technology standard for ultra-low-power and long-range devices.
Wavenis is a two-way wireless connectivity platform for applications that need to manage small amounts of data with low radio traffic, ultra-low-power management and high reliability. Wavenis-enabled devices are already at work in a variety of AMR (automatic meter reading), AMI (advanced meter infrastructure), home and building automation, industrial automation, medical and environmental UHF-active long-range RFID applications.
Wavenis-OSA members work together to define the Wavenis technology roadmap and to deliver new Wavenis features and capabilities, as determined by member interests and market requirements.
Today, the Technical Committee is focused on completing the public version of the Wavenis Specification for the PHY and MAC layers. We are also investigating the integration of IP into the official Wavenis Specification. Another topic open for investigation is the possible definition of Wavenis-OSA optional application profiles for the various markets that Wavenis is deployed in today such as; smart metering, smart cities, home and building automation and others to be identified.
